Zane Zilverberg was born in eastern Australia and raised on a registered horse/cattle ranch in central South Dakota. Throughout later high school and college years, he worked as a vet tech gaining a greater understanding of health and nutrition needs of livestock. He previously graduated from Mitchell Technical College in 2020 with an AAS Degree in Electrical Construction and Maintenance. He later enrolled in business courses for the next academic year, while simultaneously competing in college rodeo representing MTC at the 2021 National College Finals in Casper, WY. From there, Zane transferred to Chadron State College to study business management with a focus in marketing, while competing as a CSC Eagle in college rodeo and wrestling.
Some of the most notable people in Zane’s life include his grandfather, John Zilverberg, and father, Gary Zilverberg, who have guided him with a wealth of ranching and livestock knowledge. John Zilverberg served his country in WWII after the attack on Pearl Harbor, so future generations could grow and thrive. Founder of Bar JZ Ranches, he made a number of contributions to many cattle breeds across America. He was one of 100 founding members of the North American Limousine Foundation in 1970. Additionally, he was previously inducted into the American Polled Hereford Association Hall of Fame in 1994. His father, Gary Zilverberg, had a notable rodeo career, competing internationally across North America and Australia for the past 40 years. One of his noteworthy achievements was winning the 1979 Calgary Stampede All-Around Cowboy. Zane is licensed in South Dakota.
